VIRTUAL- Hacktoberfest 2020 Finale!

The great finale of the month is a Hacktoberfestian Show & Tell! We’re featuring a Halloween costume contest for fun as well!

Hacktoberfest — brought to you by DigitalOcean in partnership with Dev & Intel — is a month-long celebration of open source software. Maintainers are invited to guide would-be contributors towards issues that will help move the project forward, and contributors get the opportunity to give back to both projects they like and others they’ve just discovered. No contribution is too small — bug fixes and documentation updates are valid ways of participating.

Locally, this event usually occurs in person at theClubhou.se, though this year everything will be virtual. The month-long event will include numerous virtual check-ins and meetings. The objective of the hackathon is familiarize those new to programming with how to use GitHub, a hosting platform for software development. Morgan Smith is the local organizer for Hacktoberfest in Augusta. She and her team will be wrapping up Hacktoberfest on October 29th, 6-8pm, with an evening of presentations of what folks have created during the month, as well as a costume contest. The winner of the costume contest will receive six months of Part-Time membership with theClubhou.se!!!
