Sa'de Williams, the Founder, and CEO of Golden Lotus Properties, LLC, was looking for a change in her career when she stumbled upon the Make Startups Certificate of Entrepreneurship Course. She was always passionate about helping people find affordable housing. Starting her own business seemed like the perfect fit, but she knew she needed guidance and a solid foundation to make it a reality.
The Make Startups program provided just what she needed. Sa'de learned to stay current with her target market and continuously seek ways to improve her business. She thrived off properly identifying her target market to focus on their potential needs. The program also taught her to research her industry daily, stay motivated, and never be afraid to network.
Sa'de put these skills to work, constantly attending webinars, reading books, and networking events. The program also taught her the importance of talking with an open mind and making every second count for a learning opportunity.
However, Sa'de faced challenges along the way. She had to overcome her fear of asking for help and networking with people. But with the support of the Make Startups community and mentors, she overcame these obstacles and continued growing her business.

Make it work
One of the most effective marketing tactics Sa'de employed was creating and understanding her company's business goals and customer needs. Her business roots were based on helping people find affordable housing, so staying true to that mission was critical. The Make Startups program allowed her to see problem-solving differently. Now, she allows herself to access the problem, come up with the solution, and successfully overcome the issue instead of feeling there is nowhere to turn.
Today, Sa'de Williams confidently runs her own business, and her journey through the Make Startups Certificate of Entrepreneurship Course has played a vital role in her success. She encourages others to take advantage of the program's resources and foster their entrepreneurial spirit.
“My advice to rising entrepreneurs: Show others what you are working on and be proud of your product(s). When you may feel like giving up or things get tough, go back to your WHY, regroup yourself, and keep pushing. Be your own biggest critic. I believe in you; stay focused and go after your dreams.”
Sa’de has experienced her first initial round of fundraising which created positive results for her by articulating her mission and vision to an initial round of funders and investors. This funding will help her to expand the impact of her businesses ability to serve more people in the community.
