Ed Elser has been a part of theClubhou.se since it’s inception. If you want to do something cool, he will be your biggest cheerleader, and likely give you a perspective you had not considered. Meet Ed!
1: How did you come to be a member of theClubhou.se?
As a founding member, I’m trying to come up with a clever answer to this. OK, how about…I had no choice. My name was on the lease.
2: Describe the moment you decided what you wanted to do when you grew up?
Easy: Freshman year of high school. My high school had a Electronics lab, and it was COOL!
3: What do you do in your current work?
Engineering Management for WRDW/WAGT, the CBS and NBC Affiliates in Augusta. Leading a rag-tag group of SUPER people.
4: What is an expertise you have that you would like to share with others?
I can see the future. And it’s awesome! Don’t worry about the crud going on around you. Concentrate on your creativity. Your future self will thank you.
5: What are you tinkering with at the moment?
JUST got done with the “Minimum Wage Machine”. It’s at the Technology and Humanity exhibit at theClubhou.se through December.
6: What are you interested in learning?
I really need to practice my simple coding. Nothing complicated, just the basics would be great. Remind me about that will you? Tell me how you need to make an arduino do something simple, and I will go out of my way to help you.
7: What is your favorite sci-fi movie?
Umm. I really don’t watch movies or television. I am guessing it has something to do with getting paid for it maybe?
8: If you have not lived all of your life in Augusta, where else have you lived?
Born and raised in Chicago. Wonderful city, wonderful people. Too darn cold for too darn long.
9: If you could see one thing happen in Augusta in the next 5 – 10 years, what would it be?
Really, I think I like the direction everything is taking In Augusta AND nationally. The baseball park in North Augusta, the cyber training center, the new hotels. WOW! Technology and automation is ultimately leading us in a good direction. One that our leadership will soon have no choice but to acknowledge. Once we acknowledge that change is good, technology will make everyone’s lives easier. But we HAVE to accept, no, EMBRACE change to make it happen.

Well. I WANT to exemplify “give more than you take”. Really, I want to exemplify them all. But I need work on … all of them.
