Cynthia Philpot has been been coming to on a weekly basis for a while now. She is part of the community of members who work out of remotely. Meet Cynthia!

1: How did you come to be a member of

I work from home and was looking for a place where I could get out of the house.  After volunteering for a couple of events associated with (The Augusta Warrior Project Job Fair, and TEDxAugusta 2016), I knew that was a really cool place with a lot of really cool people.

2: Describe the moment you decided what you wanted to do when you grew up?

That’s an easy question – I have always wanted to be in a position to help others any way that I can.  I recently began working on my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  When I grow up, I’d like to be a Licensed Professional Counselor.

3: What do you do in your current work?

I am a Project Manager for, a full-service web agency based out of Chicago.  We work to strengthen humanity by helping others discover, create, and share knowledge.  It, like, is a really cool place with a lot of really cool people.  Prior to working at Palantir, I worked for Morris Communications for about 18 yrs.

4: What is an expertise you have that you would like to share with others?

I believe that I connect with people really well.  I never met a stranger that I didn’t know. I love people, their stories, their joys, their accomplishments.

5: What are you tinkering with at the moment?

I am building a website using an open-source platform by the name of Drupal.

6: What are you interested in learning?

I’d love to learn how to play the piano.

7: What is your favorite sci-fi movie?

Hmmm, it is a cross between “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes” and “Young Frankenstein”  Do those qualify as Sci-Fi?

8: If you have not lived all of your life in Augusta, where else have you lived?

I am originally from California.

9: If you could see one thing happen in Augusta in the next 5 – 10 years, what would it be?

It would be nice to see more businesses invest in the downtown area.

10: Core Values are: Risk Boldly, Honor Your Commitments, Be Worthy of Trust, Give More Than You Take, and Share Solutions. Which core value do you best exemplify and why?

I believe in honoring your commitments.  Let your yes be yes, and your no be no.  Also – don’t be afraid to say “I don’t know.”

If there is one thing that I can say about this 'meeting' that I've just read, it would be that the most interesting person one could ever meet and know is the person who knows herself (or himself). Cynthia really knows herself well and she embraces who she is, never trying to be someone who she is not or professing or pretending to be someone else. If I didn't know her, I would surely reach out to meet her!
