1. What is the business?
Dino’s Arcade is a mobile virtual reality (VR) entertainment service that brings the best VR experience to you.
2. When and where did you found it?
I started my business in January of 2017 in Augusta, Ga.
3. Where is the business now?
I am operational, being hired to entertain at gatherings such as parties and corporate team building events.
4. What were you like in school?
Quite the character, and a little bit of a class clown.
5. Any extra-curricular activities?
Regrettably, no. Looking back I would have loved to do theatre.
6. Any significant experiences/skills that (with hindsight) influenced your business?
I have taken speech and presentation courses as an adult that have greatly aided me in my business. In my work, I am always in front of groups of people and need to appear exciting and engaging.
7. Any previous entrepreneurial experience? Lessons learned?
No experiences of my own, but I have been a part of a group of entrepreneurs long before I started my business who helped learn together by sharing their experiences and failures. Too many to write down. I have learned a great deal from them.
8. What appealed to you about entrepreneurship?
The idea that I can create something today that didn’t exist yesterday, and be a huge success tomorrow.
9. How did you get the idea?
I’ve always wanted my own entertainment center for adults like me. A place that serves great food and drinks and have a level of entertainment you cannot get at home or in any other location.
10. How has your idea progressed over time?
I was first going to focus on a brick and mortar location, but then realized I can offer the same great entertainment experience by bringing the entertainment to the customer with a mobile service.
11. How have you funded the business?
Out of pocket, as well as generous investments from family and friends
12. How do you market your business?
Local online and social media advertising, but mostly with doing live demonstrations at public events has had a great effect on increasing paid events.
13. Who are your main competitors?
There are a number of other game centers around town that primarily focus on younger crowds. While I focus on adults by using higher end equipment.
There are also virtual reality arcades that are in Atlanta GA and Charleston SC, though they are physical locations that customers need to go to. I, on the other hand, bring the same great experiences to the customer, right in their homes.
14. What have you learned from your competitors (both successes and failures)?
I learned virtual reality is loved by many people but very few have access to high quality experiences and will pay to get them. The failures are those who do not change. It is important to not be a “been there, done that” experience. I add new experiences to my list and give my customers a reason to always come back for more to see what is new and amazing.
15. What does a typical day involve for you? How does that compare to your team. How has this changed over time?
On days where I have a scheduled event, I prepare my equipment and test to see everything is functioning properly. I then pack up and transport them to the customer or client. I spend at least 2 hours at each event, depending on how long the customer wants me there, and entertain their guests with high-end virtual reality experiences. I then pack up and leave. On days where I do not have an event, I spend it making sure all of the equipment is maintained and ready for use.

“Fool” by Christopher Moore.
17. Favorite movies?
The “Alien” franchise.
18. Favorite entrepreneurs?
Joey Wilkes is the owner of The UnderBox CrossFit gym in Martinez. He was first my coworker, then my first mentor, and he is the very first entrepreneur I have ever met. He showed me the world of entrepreneurship and is the real reason I am on the path in life I am in now. He has been a great influence on me and I am greatly thankful for everything I’ve learned from him.
19. Best piece of advice?
“A free loader and a dead body will stink in 3 days”. It was advice given to me when I was a teenager by my uncle and I have never forgotten it. It taught me to not take without giving back. To be independent and not make others pick up for you where you need to be working.
20. Common misconceptions about your business/entrepreneurship in general?
A lot of people think virtual reality is just for kids. But nearly all the experiences for it are enjoyable to adults. In fact, most the events I’ve been hired to do throughout the year have exclusively been for adults.
21. What is next for your business?
A mobile Virtual Reality station. Using a large custom truck, I can bring the most advanced virtual reality equipment to large events and entertain large crowds of people.
22. What next for you?
I want to travel to Japan and experience the entertainment centers they have there. They have much more advanced equipment which we do not see here in the states. I would like to see them first hand and learn how they operate their business.

I cannot do it justice by putting it in words. theClubhou.se has helped me from nearly the beginning of by business. I discovered them after I started and ever since, they have offered me resources, essential tools, and information that I have used in my business. They are also a family of entrepreneurs who help each other. Being a blend of a wide range of expertise, talents, and businesses, there is always someone close by who can give you advice and direction on whatever project you are doing. They have continuously been a big help for me and I greatly appreciate them existing in my town.
